The car was filthy when we picked it up and had scratches on the passenger side from the front bumper along the car doors to the back bumper. Manager of car parking not available for comment and still not heard anything from him to date. Would not use this facility again.

I've stayed many times at the hotel, sometimes travelling on my own or with family. It's a great place to relax before a flight. I enjoy going for a walk in the countryside around the hotel before going for something to eat, and I love the new carvery. The bedrooms are spacious and have all that's needed in them.

We have stayed at this hotel before; we had a much better room this time. The only downfall was on the morning we left there was no hot water, so we were unable to shower. We had to boil the kettle to have a wash. We thought they might have given us a complimentray coffee, but this did not happen.

Not particularly clean, and the carpet wasn't even put down in the room. We nearly broke our necks. We stayed here several years ago and it was alot better then.

Great not having to worry about travelling early in the morning. Room a little disappointing, but for the money we were paying, can't really complain.

After reading some of the other reviews I wondered if I had made a mistake booking at this hotel. I have come to the conclusion that some people are very picky. True, the hotel is a bit tired in places but I booked two rooms and they were both clean and comfortable. It would be good if the bus to the airport ran more frequently, but at the end of the day the hotel is not advertised as 5 star and you get what you pay for. I would definitely stay the next time I use Gatwick airport.

Airport transfer was excellent; had a 4-15 am departure from the hotel and the bus was waiting at 4-05am. Room was fine...didn't eat here this time but food was excellent on my last visit.

You pay your money and take your choice. The price is low so do not expect 5 star. Overall good VFM. Main issue is that on return we got to the bus stop at 11:30, next bus was 12:20 :-( and you have to pay £2.50 each way.

I must say that on paper the Russ Hill looks fantastic! Brilliant value for money! However, imagine my surprise when I got up to catch my flight and the shower didn't work (there was no bath). I was a little annoyed, as one of the reasons we drove down the night before was to have a stress free start and a nice hot shower before a long flight. Upon phoning the hotel reception I was told someone would be able to look at it in 5 mins. After half an hour and several more phone calls when no one had arrived, I was forced to go and shower in a friend's room. This made us late for our taxi who then charged us double. Also for your info the shuttle bus we had needed to take was full and we would have had to leave two hours earlier than planned if we wanted to get on one. Hence the taxi! Take my advice pay £25 extra, stay somewhere better as you'll end up paying more at the Russ Hell in the long run... and you might even get a shower.

Very convenient and only £10 more than just parking for a week at gatwick. Bed was a bit small but then I am 2m tall.

Generally helpful and friendly service. I think the cars should be brought to the front car park for late returns - very spooky trying to find car in dark, almost in tears with tiredness but thankfully the man from the car park service fetched it for me when I couldn't find it in the dark. A real shame that an ohterwise great service is spoilt by the infrequency of buses, particularly as there is a charge, other hotels have courtesy buses and you can ring for them to fetch you when you arrive.

Very small room; they gave us a very dirty travel cot and they could only fit it between the bed and the wall, plus to get around the bed we had to climb over it?

Something drastic needs to be done about sound proofing. If anyone walked past the room and were whispering it sounded like they were in the room. The reason we booked into the hotel was because we had an early flight and had to get up at 4:00am, but we hardly had any sleep because of the noise from shouting and doors banging shut, and before it is mentioned I know there was a wedding on but the noise was from everybody walking past. We also stayed there on the 1st April it wasn't as bad but still noisy. Sorry to be so downbeat, but it spoilt it a bit for us.

Room very basic and on the cold side, but ok (outside temperature was particularly low on the night of our stay). Bathroom had allegedly been refurbished, but water pressure was so low that a shower was out of the question. Bath products of very low quality.

We found this really useful and good value for money. Will use the services again when flying from Gatwick. All personnel very helpful and pleasant.

With this hotel you get what you pay for. The staff are friendly and the bus transfers are spot on. Return times from Gatwick are hourly at 1/4 past the hour so you could end up with a 50 minute wait at the airport - luckily we didn't. The hotel bar was very noisy with a function on until about 0230am on the night I stayed and as consequence I got little sleep.
