This was an awful hotel and our room was no bigger than a shoe box. The food was overpriced and the hotel is miles from the airport down a country road, very hard to find and full of holes and speed bumps. The bus only runs every hour and we missed the return bus by 5 mins and had to get a cab. I will never use this hotel again.

Nearly six pounds for a bowl of Heinz tomato soup (claimed to be home-made) was steep to say the least.

I was horrified to find there was a disco in a very unsoundproofed hotel that services airport clientele. I had to get up very early to catch my flight, and part of the reason I stayed in a hotel was to get a decent amount of sleep beforehand. This was impossible with the extremely loud music. Shocking.

The service was great. I did find, however, that when I had to collect my car it was parked very closely to the next car and I only had about a foot to squeeze in to the driver's seat. Apart from that, everything was good. Cup of tea in bar was a bit expensive though.

Room was small and old, with bowing ceilings and a extremely small dirty bathroom. The buses to the airport were regular, but on our return were once every hour, which was not great after a long haul flight. The parking staff were inexperienced, and the manager very rude, and stated that due to their mistake I could have to wait a "few hours" for my car. Not pleasant. My advice, stay at another hotel, Sorry!

The first (supposed to be non smoking) room we were given stank of smoke, the sheets had been slept in - they were dirty. On our return the room was slightly better, but the shower was just a trickle. The hotel was one of the worst I have ever stayed in.

The hotel looks lovely from the outside, but the inside is rather down. For the money you pay you can't really complain, plus you are only there for one night. Saying that, though, I would not stay here again.

Overall, our brief stay was good value for money as all we wanted was somewhere to lay our head the night before our flight. The hotel was clean and the reception staff friendly. We did find the bar to be very expensive and were over charged on some drinks. The room, although very small, was clean and served its purpose. Overall, good value for money and would visit again if flying from Gatwick.

Two issues which was very disappointing. 1) It should have been highlighted that the "air conditioning" within the bedrooms did not work! Was only made aware of this after getting to the room and making them aware. Answer given was it has not been working for some time! Managed to borrow a fan which helped but not ideal. 2) Had to wait for an hour for bus to collect us after a long haul flight. Believe the hotel should consider more regular pick ups. Minimum every 30mins not hourly. Based upon experience will be considering using different venue next time.

Have used the Hotel a few times; has good parking and easy to get to the airport. Rooms do need to be updated; very tired looking.

It was so nice to sit out in the sun and relax and have a drink because you did not have to drive to the airport in the early morning.

I had booked a single room, so expected it to be small but it was more like a cupboard, no windows apart from a skylight. The dining room closed early with no notice so I then had to eat in my room.

Parking facilities are good value for money. Hotel itself is pretty average. Food & Drinks are expensive so I advise people to go into Charlwood village & have a meal there.

No problems, nice hotel to stay before your flight, we had the carvery meal and it was excellent more expensive than we expected but it was a good meal, if we had to use a hotel again we would stay here. Transfers were excellent no problems whatsoever. Hotel was clean and staff helpful and polite.

Myself and my boyfriend will not choose this hotel again, as the room was well below standard, everything was dirty, we could not turn the shower off and the kettle did not even have a plug on! When we tried to discuss this with the hotel staff during our departure they just did not want to know.

This was my third visit to Russ Hill Hotel and yet again I was very satisfied with my stay. The rooms are very comfy and you can always ask for a room facing the front of hotel if you are interested in watching the planes take off. I have booked again for this August and I am looking forward to another stay where I know the food will be of the same high standard I am used to and the beds are very comfortable. Maybe the only criticism would be the drinks are a bit expensive in the bar but I don't go for the drinking.
