As a mum travelling on her own with a small baby the hotel was generally fantastic as the staff were so helpful. The only difficulty I had was finding a parking spot anywhere near reception...in the end I parked in the disabled parking as only then could i open the doors wide enough to get a car seat & baby out and be able to carry the car seat into reception - luckily the hotel said this was OK, but then I was given a hard time about it by the car park attendant.

Our stay was appailing. Food dreadful and in an airport hotel, to not get a requested wake up call is JUST NOT ACCEPTABLE. will never never use you again.

Although only a one night stay prior to a holiday abroad, I am gled we chose Thistle hotels - it served us well.

This was the first time I have used Hotel Airport Parking and I would definately use Thistle again. Lovely accomodation, friendly staff and quick and easy airport transfers. No need for early starts and rushing to get to the airport on time, all for a similar cost to normal airport parking. Well worth it!

The noise overhead at night made it impossible to sleep. So while location/proximity and punctuality of bus/transfer was excellent, we did not manage to get any sleep the night before. Others should bear this in mind if they want to feel refreshed and relaxed prior to travel.

Shuttle bus to the airport was not agood expierence,difficult to store suitcases,also did not go into terminal 3 stopped on roadway.overall apoor service ataxi only cost £8 60 on return bus fare £8 00

driver was very erratic and drove too fast, he may know the way but surely he must wait til all passengers are seated before setting off and sometimes need brakes.

I have already recommended this hotel and parking facility to others as we were impressed with all aspects of the package. It proved to be a lovely relaxing start to our holiday. I would also highly recommend the hotel restaurant as the food was excellent and the service attentive but not stuffy!

The hotel was fine... The parking ... well what more can I say... I would have been wiser to have stayed st home on the night and left early the next morning and booked a meet and greet. Which is what I will do next time.

my room had not been cleaned and the staff were not to concerned. parking was difficult as there wasn't enough spaces so cars were being parked anywhere- yellow lines, up curbs and on grassed areas. No choice of full or continental breakfast, i thought £12.95 was a bit expensive for 2 slices of toast.

Overall the experience was very good, althought the first room was dreadful and we had to be moved the staff were very helpful and the rest of the hotel was a very high standard. I would definitely visit the hotel again.

We stayed at the Thistle (Jan 08) and parked for a week. The hotel is better than I expected for the price. It has all the usual amenities - tea/coffee making facilities, hairdryer, iron etc and is in reasonable repair. One downside is the fact that to get to our room which was, in fact at ground level, we had to go up stairs, along corridors and down stairs again - not much fun when you have cases! In the morning, we went out straight out into the car park from a door at the end of the corridor. I imagine the doors are accesible from the inside only fro security reasons but surely a keycard lock could be installed so that guests needn't traipse up and down stairs! Apart from that, the bar (with snacks, i think) was open till midnight for the late arrivals. The wake up call came on time. We asked Reception to order a taxi for us to take us to the airport in the morning - it was prompt and the driver very helpful. In fact, this is the only thing I would warn against - the Hotel Hopper. You can use this service to get to any terminal and it costs 4GBP per person per trip. For 2 of us, it would have been 8GBP. The taxi to Terminal 4 only cost 9GBP anyway and was much quicker! We got a black cab back to the hotel and it was the same price. In addition, the Hopper calls at every terminal so it can take considerably longer than the 15minutes advertised. Unless you're a lone traveller, it really is better to get a taxi (personally, for the sake of convenience, I'd get a taxi even if I was on my own). Bottom line - would definitely use again.

We regularly stay in hotels in the UK and abroad, unfortunatley by comparison, we found the Thistle Hotel to be just 'ok' and glad that we were only booked for the one night. The issue of most concern was the fact that the room had previously been a smoking room and it had a heavy odour of smoke.

The bed at the Thistle was incredibly uncomfortable and with just two pillows on a double bed booked for two persons, this didn't aid our comfort - needless to say, both my partner and I did not feel refreshed when we woke on the day of our scheduled departure.

The hotel is close to the airport. About 15 minutes by car. Facilites are fine and when I overnight the hotel was quiet. I left my car for 2 weeks and it was fine when I returned. I was unhappy about a £5.00 room service surcharge so ended up not eating when I stayed overnight before my trip.

Me and my partner booked an 8 day parking on site package at the Thistle hotel. On arrival was asked to complete disclaimer form for parking in which we were reluctant to sign as the form states the hotel will not accept any liability for damage or if car was stolen. The receptionist advised us that their on site car park is constantly manned by security so we signed the form. When booking room we requested a non smoking room but on arrival the room was smokey plus being on a corrider we had two doors right outside our room which kept banging against each other when people were walking through which kept us awake for most of the night. When enquiring times of the hoppa bus to Heathrow airport the receptionist advised us that the bus service is free but when we got on the bus we were charged £4.00 each. On return from our holiday we went to collect our car from the Thistle hotel only to find that it had been broken into and the window and door lock were completely damaged. I spoke to reception who in all honesty were not too interested in helping us and said we would need to speak to the car park manager. We spoke to the car park manager who again was really no help. I asked if they had cctv cameras for where we were parked which was literaly on site around the back of the hotel. He explained that the security camera was slightly out from where we were parked and that the car park is manned at all times which I beleive is not the case as he was clearly not doing his job properly. I asked to speak to the hotel manager to discuss a refund but was told that she was not available. As we were so tired from our jorney back from New York we really did not expect to come back to this and the hotel customer service was really no good as no one rreally has an idea on any of the hotel services escpecialy the car parking! After paying so much money for one nights stay at this hotel and the 8 day on site parking I really did not expect our car to be broken into on site. I really do not rate this hotel and car parking so be warned when booking with them as I certainly will not be!

The decor in the bedroom was very tired and tatty. The towels in the bathroom were thin and smelled awful. The hotel desperately needs to update the rooms, and given the prices for one night I was amazed it was so poor. The decor of the upstairs bar was ok but I asked for four different bottles of white wine before I found one they had in stock and chilled, and guess what..it was almost the most expensive on the wine list! It really is a place where you would not want to spend any more time than a few hours sleeping before your flight.

This hotel was good on the whole, however I took part in a fire drill on 7th Dec 3pm. The staff were running round like headless chickens, there were no signs outside to tell guests where to assemble and the team leaders were not leading!!! It would take very little effort or expense to erect lightable signs for guests to KNOW IMMEDIATELY where to go.

The room we had was very bad as it had been used by a smoker and was disgusting for non smokers like ourselves, we asked to be moved but were told hotels full and nothing could be done apart from spray that lasted about a minute! There was no tea or milk in the room although was delivered. When we arrived there were no parking spaces available and drove around the car park for half an hour before reception let us park in carpark 2 after some arguement!

This was absolutely fine for our purposes - 3 girls staying over before a trip to New York early the next morning. Our room had 2 single beds and a sofa bed and was very small. Restaurant was extortionate and pasta was bland and a pricey £12. Wine also expensive at around £17. Bus to terminals £4 each way - daylight robbery but not the fault of the hotel!
