This offer wasnt bad for the hotel and parking combined, however for a Thistle chain the hotel was quite basic and the room was small. Also be aware the shuttle bus times to and from the hotel do vary - and the bus isn't always on time so allow for this. Parking at the hotel was secure and we collected the car without any problems.

If you want good value, no frills, overnight accomodation before your trip with the added bonus of safe parking, you could do worse than to stay here.

The hotel was dirty and understaffed. Some of the staff were quite scruffy. The restaurant was closed, apparently none of the staff had turned up for work. The reception staff were quite helpful, but were unable to deal with the workload, therefore we were kept waiting much longer than we would consider reasonable. The shuttle bus is expensive compared to using a taxi if sharing with 3 or more. We will not book there again.

It was fine for our purpose & I think best value in the area. Reception staff rushed, bus shuttle expensive and arrangement unclear. We just needed a bed - which is what we got.

This is a good choice when you need to spend the night near Gatwick. The town is a short 15 minute walk away and there are a number of affordable restaurants in the town square area.

Our 1st room had 1 light that flickered all the time & one that didn't work at all. The 2nd room they gave us had 1 light not working & it wasn't till we were getting ready for bed that we realised hot water was coming out of the cold tap. They did give us a bottle of water. To catch the bus to the airport you have to walk out of the back & around to the side, so if it is raining you will get very wet. This is the worst Gatwick hotel we have stayed in, I do not know where the 4* rating can come from.

Our stay at the hotel was more than satisfactory; this is our fourth stay at this hotel. The transfer to the airport was on time and reasonably priced.

It was convenient, but the water in the bath/shower was brown! Also our window wouldn't close. A bit shabby, but did the job.

A very pleasant night's stay. My disabled sister-in-law, who is in her 80s, had an early morning flight and we really have to thank the driver of the bus who waited for us as I struggled to carry the folded wheelchair in the rain. I wish I had thought to book help the night before as the duty staff were too busy to assist us.

I will certainly not use this hotel again. The bar was unable to provide any food, and when asked why not the staff were distinctly unfriendly and surly. We were then offered room service, but nobody answered the phone when we tried to order. The non smoking room smelt very strongly of cigarette smoke. Very poor hotel.

Not told at time of booking that triple rooms were non-smoking after we requested a smoking triple room, receptionist most unhelpful ended up in a disabled double. Breakfast was really expensive at 12.95 each. Won't be staying there again. Mould growing up tiles in bathroom put us off.

Booked a triple room, smoking; wasn't told triple rooms were non-smoking so had to have a disabled double, so all had to sleep in same bed, breakfast really expensive at 12,95 each reception staff (woman) miserable also mould growing around bottom of shower in bathroom tiles but never mind won't stay there again apparently the travel lodge at gatwick where you just have to walk over the bridge is really good and cheaper so will give that a go next time a few passsengers on the plane recommended it.

I enjoyed a pleasant stay at Gatwick Thistle. The staff were friendly, polite & efficient. Although the bar and restaurant at the hotel were a little "pubby" for my taste, I found a wealth of good restaurants in the local village. Reception kindly arranged a taxi at a cost of only £3.

There was no hairdryer in the room and no spare ones anywhere in the hotel. Not a good start to a holiday. There was no water when we first arrived, it took almost three hours before we had water.

The only downside was the transfer bus we were due to get was cancelled and we waited in the cold at 6am for 40 mins and was not told it was cancelled, so not that impressed. The room was nice and the staff were friendly.

We have used Thistle previously and have been very satisfied with the service and parking. It certainly makes the onward journey a lot easier and pleasurable. We would definitely use the hotel again.

This is not a 4 star hotel sorry. Picture shows pub at the front quite attractive but not the extension behind which houses the rooms-very misleading. The room needed refurbishing, the bathroom was very poor and absolutely freezing would not recommend or stay there again=sorry.

Very good, polite and friendly service from the staff. Only problem was a noisy neighbour who was on the phone until 2.00am and we had to be up at 6.00am. Perhaps thicker walls would help!
