Dover Ferry Parking reviews

Not being used to Dover, we found the route to the Ferry Complex easy to follow, but on arrival found the notice boards outside it difficult to understand as we approached, with seemingly no opportunity to stop the car and look. Thus we made a wrong choice of entry. This led us on a circular route within the terminal which was not easily negotiated by us. Our predicament was eased by the presence of some helpful friendly staff, and eventually we got out! The car parking complex is clearly being redecorated and updated so it is probably not fair to comment on the conditions in the corridors, the need for clearer signposting inside it, or the apparently long walk for older folk on the journey back to the parked cars.

The spaces are a little tight. Where one driver in our party did not read the instructions and took a ticket, the problem was resolved speedily and without fuss. A more descriptive explanation of the process of arrival - maybe a short video - would be useful?

I made an on-line reservation in advance for the parking; left the ferry boat, took the 1st roundabout and entered the Car Park access; parked the car; on an on-line reservation Bus I got to Victoria Bus Station in London; done my stuff around London and 10 days later I made the return to my car in Dover. It was still there and I just took it out and went to catch the ferry back to France. Better than this is impossible. Thanks Dover Ferry Park!

Entry system did not recognise car registration plate.Waisted time having to take ticket and wondering what to do.As a consequence only just caught bus to ferry.Had to sort problem out on return,did not give confidence of your system,when car park reception staff,said computer system showed no bookings at all on that day!!

Car parking was fine, I would just like to see more lower ground parking made available to the general public please.

Good value for peace of mind. Need to specify that there is a connecting bus to the terminal for foot passengers. The parking bays are on the narrow side so it pays to go higher to benefit from unoccupied spaces to get in and out of your car. Otherwise a good experience.

I was very pleased with the service and was impressed with the barrier opening on my arrival and departure with number plate recognition. All in all a good experience which was a good start and ending to my holiday. Just one little comment though - I understood that it was cheaper because I booked on line, however, when I saw the tariff at Dover, I noticed it was exactly the same price.

The parking was difficult to find when you come from the ferry. Outside was no walking area, so it was not easy to cross the street to walk into Dovercity

First time used , very good service , will use again and tell others of value for money.

I have used the multi storey car park at Dover East Docks annually for the past five years, normally booking on line with the car park direct. This year I booked online with Simply.Com and was surprised to find it £5 cheaper than the prices charged in previous years. No issues parking, the barriers operated on recognising my car reg..I will definately use company again next time. (travelled June to July 2012) piece of mind leaving my car in a safe and secure car park. Jim from London
