value for money, convenient and efficient service would use again. This is the second time we've used this hotel and it was just what we needed. reasonably close, competetive pricing and efficient service for fast check in and out which was useful as we had an early start.

Nice place to stay for 1 night however roads are being repaired at moment so to get to anywhere for food is a bit of a trip

I relaxed the day before i flew with a game of tennis and a swim which made me feel ready to fly. I had a quiet night sleep and when i collected my car 2 weeks later i was greeted with a fantastic welcome and questions about my holiday. I really wa happy with my experience and have already suggested the room for a night and carparking at this hotel to about 10 people.

If you just missed the coach from Gatwick Terminal we would have to wait for a hour before the next one, which would deture us using this hotel.

An over night stay at a hotel takes the hassle out of driving to airport and parking on the same day as travelling.Copthorne Effingham was a good choice with efficient service and airport transfers.

the only down side was the journey from the airport back to the hotel transport only runs hourly

Transfer to and from airport is pathetic bus ever hour going and more than one hour for return. In event had to pay £15 for taxi to return to hotel.

reception very helpful,and friendly. Wish we had booked taxi with the hotel for early morning leave as it was only £10, and the bus was £7 for two of us one way, for the sake of the £3 differance it would have been worth it. (Although nothing wrong with the hoppa bus). Very pretty surroundings.

Stayed in Copthorne Hotels many times, rooms are always very good, with tea and coffee available and generally everything you want for a comfortable stay. Bars at the Effingham seemed very welcoming, didn't use the restaurant facillity but past experience has been good. Airport transfer and pick up was efficient, no problems, though i would have preferrerd the charge to be on your check out bill, buying a £3 one way ticket didn't seem very 4 star, but, a small thing.

The room we had was like something from the 1920's very old furniture smelling of mothballs, the worst hotel i have ever stayed in..... AVOID!

Although the price of the room was really good compared to others, it seems that the people who are paying to park and stay get put in the 'old' side of the hotel which is really in need of refurbishment! Shame the competitive price didnt offer a nicer room. In future i would pay more for nicer accommodation!

the timetable was not given to us ona departure for the airport so when we arrived back we looked at the timetable at the coach pick up which was incorrect so eventually we were told when we phoned we wereinformed that the coach only ran every hour which meant we had an hour to wait in the cold not realising this when we complained we were not offered any explanation for not being informed and subsequently will not be using this arrangement again

The evening receptionists were lovely and they made up for person whom I spoke to originally on the phone - I nearly cancelled. The only other comment is that we had to wait an hour for the bus to get back and the driver frightened the life out of me - I was grateful to arrive alive! He drove at speed, throwing us around and the luggage and kept breaking at the last minute, causing us to hold on tight.

We ordered 2 steak meals to be cooked rare and medium rare, and after waiting over an hour we received what I can only describe as char grilled and the meal was completely unedible. We paid for transfers to and from the airport, but on our return after waiting about an hour, we contacted the hotel to be told that the transfer bus had finished for the night. We then had to get a taxi which cost us £20.00. On returning to the hotel they were very unhelpfull and refused to even refund our transfer money.

Hi I was a little disapointed that although the hotel is set in large grounds, there is no where to walk or sit within the estate as it is only accessable to golfers. I am a golfer but my partner is not and thisw ment she had no where to relax within the grounds away from the hotel itself, the staff and the facilities where good and the course was pleasant to play. I just think thatmaybe a little information could be included to help those non golfers make an informed choice, Regards David Green

Was perfect for a one night stay before going to airport, the bus arrived on time and room was very nice, however slightly dated, but clean. The main restaurant was expensive so for those with smaller budgets go to the bar one!
