Summer Special stops service to Gatwick South

As of the 2nd of March 2009, BAA has announced that the Summer Special car park at Gatwick Airport will no longer serve the South Terminal.  Customers who have already booked parking, or are returning on or after that date, will be contacted.

Updated Car ParkAlthough Summer Special will no longer be shuttling customers to and from the South Terminal, there are several great options still on offer that provide this service.

APH Parking (a gosimply Award-winner for December 2009!), Cophall Farm Parking, and Gatwick’s Official Long Stay car park are some of our most popular facilities who continue to provide complimentary transfers to either both terminals, or the South exclusively.

Blackpool Offers Free Airport Parking

Blackpool Airport now allows 15 days’ free car parking for departing passengers in a new drive to attract more passengers from across the Northwest.

On the same date, Blackpool Airport will introduce a £10 Airport Development Fee for all departing passengers aged 16 years and older.  A ticket machine will be provided in the main airport terminal where passengers can pay the fee, and the ticket will be required to pass through airport security into the departure lounge.

Passengers claiming the free parking at Blackpool Airport will need to validate their car parking ticket in the Arrivals area upon their return.

“Funds from the Airport Development Fee will support continued investment from the owners to improve facilities and help attract new airlines, which in turn will increase route choice for our passengers,” said David Kershaw, Chief Executive of Blackpool International.

Gatwick Lingfield Lounge gets a facelift

The Gatwick Servisair Lingfield lounge is to close on Monday 26th January 2009 for refurbishment. The renovation project is expected to take approximately 3-4 weeks.

lounge updated Passengers who have already booked this lounge will be notified of the closure and accommodated in the Servisair Ashdown lounge during the refurbishment period.

To find the Ashdown Lounge at Gatwick customers are advised to pass through the Security Search Area, through to the Departure Area and to follow signs to ‘Airline Lounges’. The Lounge is located on the left hand side before the ‘World Duty Free Shop’, Lower Level.

Once completed, the refurbished Lingford Lounge at Gatwick will be open for business with a new and updated look and feel, ready to welcome and serve.

Great Travel Insurance Just Got Better

Stansted Servisair Lounge Moves Location

airport loungeAirport Authorities have reached an agreement with Servisair to move the lounge at Stansted Airport to a new, enlarged facility in January 2009.

The new location is 185 square metres, which is more than double the size of the existing Servisair Lounge, and will feature comfortable leather seating for up to 60 people.  Of course, travellers will still enjoy all the other benefits of booking a stay in the airport lounge, including free refreshments, WiFi Internet access, and fax services.

Name Change for Popular Heathrow Car Park

Q-Park Heathrow, one of our highest-rated car parks at Heathrow Airport and winner of the gosimply award for October 2008, has undergone a name change and is now known as Heathrow Quality Airport Parking.

There is one slight difference in the service they now provide, but it’s an improvement.  Transfers to the airport used to operate every 20 minutes, but will now operate “on demand”.  This means customers won’t have to wait for their transfer, as they may have had to before.
